The Queen of Cups is an emotional, caring and extremely sensitive woman. She may be imaginative and cultivate an interest in mysticism or magic.

We see a serene woman dressed in white and blue, looking at an ornate, jeweled chalice. At the side of the cup are two angels and a lid with a cross on top, covers it. It is not a coincidence that her dress resemble that of the High Priestess, they both oversee the element of water and the realm of emotions. However the High Priestess keeps a veil between herself and the sea of emotions behind her, while the Queen of Cups accepts the inner world and lets her emotions flow freely.

This Queen sits on a throne decorated with a scallop shell on top and cherubic, fishtailed children, spirits of the water element, at the sides.

She sits on land but is surrounded by calm waters that touch her dress and feet thus connecting the element of earth and water, the world of emotions and that of reality, the feelings and the awareness. Her cape is decorated with blue waves and is closed at the neck by a shell, another symbol of the water element.

The Queen of cups is in touch with her own and other’s emotions.  She is sensitive and compassionate, emotional, caring and artistic, so intuitive that she appears at time to be psychic.

This card represents an empathic woman, a mother, a good listener and a generous friend, able to offer emotional support in any situation.

She could be a social worker or an artist, deeply involved in the inner world but still able to channel her abilities into something tangible like the cup she holds in her hands.

She is blessed with emotional intelligence and knows how to achieve her goals that are always motivated by love.

This Queen understands feelings and emotions, their motives and their importance in our lives. In her relationships she is loving and caring, always ready to assist others and lend a friendly ear.

If this card represents more a situation than a real person, it may point out that this is a precious occasion to examine your deepest and unacknowledged feelings about a situation.

It is now very important to pay attention to dreams and intuitions that may reveal aspects we tend to ignore in our hectic lives.

A caring friend may come to help you in troubling circumstances.
