Learn to recognise when times of growth and change are approaching, and face them with confidence and a sense of anticipation. Learn when to take action, and when to be still. Six of Wands Meaning
Six of Wands Card in the Rider Waite Smith Deck of Tarot Cards
In the 6 of Wands card in the Rider Waite Smith deck of Tarot Cards, you can see a well-dressed figure riding in triumph through a group of people. He is holding a wand with a wreath of success on it and is wearing a crown of laurel leaves, which is a victor's crown.
Meaning of the 6 of Wands Upright
In the Upright position, the 6 of Wands is a card of success, of praise, of recognition, of projects coming to a successful conclusion, of prosperity and earned success. Everyone in the card also seems to be sharing in the success and celebrating with the person on the horse. Even the horse seems to be smiling in contentment.
This is triumph and victory as a result of effort. It is enjoying the fruits of your labours. The rewards have come as a result of the passion, enthusiasm and effort that have been put in and consequently, you thoroughly deserve to be celebrating.
This is not necessarily a card of being triumphant over someone else. It is more about the victory over yourself and your environment. If other people have helped you to achieve your success, it is important to acknowledge their contribution and to share the glory and success with them.
It is also important to have a healthy self esteem and allow yourself to feel good about your achievements, without acting as if you are superior to others.
Meaning of the 6 of Wands Reversed
In the reversed position, the most dominant part of the Six of Wands card is the green of the horse's cover. The rider seems to disappear into the horse and three of the Wands are falling to the ground, whilst the others are being held in place. This would suggest that any success is rather short-lived or is not built on strong foundations. The other people seem to be lost behind the wands, which indicates that there are people, who have played an important part, who are now being trampled on or pushed to one side, which is not good.
This can also be someone who has taken the credit for success that really belonged to someone else or who has built their success by trampling on other people. The Wands almost seem to form bars around the rider, which points to a person being a victim of their success or being trapped by it, rather than being able to celebrate in triumph. Be careful who you upset on your journey to success and make sure that when you celebrate your success, that you are not showing off about it.
